BRIEF HISTORY OF MP3
MP3 technology was developed by the German company Fraunhofer-Gesellshaft in 1987-1989. In April 1989 they received the first German patent for mp3 decoding and in 1992 mp3 coding algorithm was integrated into MPEG-1 and later into MPEG-2 standart. The first US Patent for mp3 was issued in November 1996.
