Origen Music started with recording of the Russian Orthodox Church music in 1995 when the founder of Origen Music Alexsey Zakharenko released CD "All Night Vigil" by Kiev Theological Academy Choir. They performed traditional church music of Kiev Pechersk (Caves) Monastery. It was first church music CD released in the Ukraine after the break down of the USSR and till now days it is one of the best examples of Russian Orthodox church music recordings.

In 1996 Origen music began collaboration with Kiev Chamber Choir, which is now one of the best chamber choirs in the world. The first CDs by Kiev Chamber Choir: “Praise the Lord-Russian Church Music of the 19-early 20th century and "The Masterpieces of Ukrainian Baroque Choral Music" were recorded and released by Origen Music in the end of 1996.

It's worth to mention legendary Monks Choir of Kiev Pechersk Monasterywhich for many centuries is the legend and as the magnet attracts thousands visitors and pilgrims. They represent the best sacred chants and praise and worship music of Russian Orthodox Church.

Ensemble of ancient church music Sretenye (Candlemas ), the winner of 2004 JPF Award (USA) brings to light rare chants of the early Christian church. One of them is Easter Canon composed by John the Damascene, the Great Father of Christian Church who lived in the 8th century.
